Abortion study explainer animation
An animated explainer for the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, created to communicate findings from a study on abortion care.
The film was aimed primarily at people working in healthcare, research and care settings, but needed to remain clear and accessible for a wider audience. The challenge was to present key findings and statistics in a way that felt informative, sensitive and human, without relying on flat charts or overly clinical visuals.
The visual approach balances calm medical reassurance with warmth and texture. Soft gradients, gentle colour palettes and human-centred scenes helped keep the tone measured and trustworthy, while still making the information feel approachable.
A key part of the project was finding ways to integrate statistics into the animation visually, so the data supported the story rather than interrupting it. I developed the concept and storyboard, created assets, built rigs, animated the film, and handled the edit and sound design through to final delivery.
