Posable & Styleable Hand Rig
Advanced After Effects rigging experiment
Advanced After Effects rigging experiment
A personal rigging project exploring how far a fully controllable hand rig could be pushed inside a single After Effects comp.
The rig was designed to be posable, rotatable and styleable, with controls for hand position, finger movement, colour and line styling. The demonstration shows the working interface and sliders, making the rigging system visible rather than hiding it behind a polished final animation.
The aim was to create a flexible hand setup that could be adjusted quickly without rebuilding or redrawing the asset for every pose. Hands are often awkward in 2D animation because they need a wide range of expressive positions, so this project was a way to test how much control could be built into one reusable system.
While the rig is experimental, it reflects the kind of technical problem-solving I enjoy: building tools and animation systems that make complex movement easier to control, revise and adapt.
