Traffic calming explainer
A public-sector explainer for Leeds City Council, created to help residents understand the purpose and benefits of new traffic calming measures.
The project needed to make a practical transport message feel friendly, clear and locally relevant. The solution was a character-led animation built around a blue tit mascot, giving the audience a warm guide through the topic while keeping the environmental and neighbourhood benefits easy to follow.
The main creative challenge was building a character that could carry the film without overcomplicating the message. The blue tit needed enough flexibility to walk, talk and gesture with its wings, while still feeling simple, readable and efficient to animate.
My role covered concept development, storyboard, main character design, rigging, animation, editing and sound design, taking the film from early idea through to final delivery.
