Health research explainer animation
Health research explainer animation
A friendly research explainer for the University of Sheffield, designed to help families understand a study exploring ways to make dental care less daunting for children.
The animation needed to communicate the study process clearly, including participant groups, consent, treatment and the option to withdraw, while remaining reassuring for parents and gentle enough for children watching alongside them.
The visual approach was deliberately warm and tactile, using layered translucent shapes, soft texture and handmade-feeling movement. Inspired by cut paper and screenprinted forms, the style helped soften the research content while keeping the explanation clear and structured.
I developed the storyboard, created assets, rigged and animated the film, then handled the edit and sound design through to final delivery.
